Full Perm Part of Item Makes Who the Creator?

I just bought an awesome box of pre-made, full perm sculpties and couldn't wait to start using them to finish off some items that i've been working on. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll never have the talent to create my own sculpties, so I gave in and paid for someone else's talent.

However, the sculpties that I'm using are only a small part of what I'm creating, and although they do complete the look, I've noticed that by using the full perm item in my creation, that this makes the creator of the sculpty the creator of my item.

Noooo! No. Am I missing some important step? Moi is the creator, the designer, the stretcher and resizer of the sculpty to make it fit my design even. I know, I know, I didn't make the sculpty but well..ya know.

Any idea? Or am I just SOL and have to figure out how to make the sculpty myself?

The root prim's creator determines the creator for the whole object. If you got the map textures along with the sculpties, you could maybe avoid the problem by using those on your own prims. Or, relink of that's practical.

Duh! TY Viktoria. All worked well after I unlinked and relinked again. I had made my part of the build the root prim, but somehow it didn't take the first time so I did it all again with the edit window open so I could watch it all progress.

Not that I'm ungrateful! I bow to all who can make the sculpty. Everytime I try, my eyes go crossed with all the buttons, bells and whistles you need to poke to make it all jive.

Thanks!

the last prim you select for linking becomes the root.
keep that much in mind and you'll succeed.
