hollowed mega prims

Hi guys,
I've seen and experienced a couple of builds lately that use a mega sphere to house a "house" or environment for living in. The builders have texutred the inside of a hollowed shape to create a "panoramic" type image and texture the outside differently.
I tried to make my own and have had horrific success. When I hollow the prim and try to move around in it, it kicks me out as if it were still solid. I've tried two different ones from two different creators with the same lackluster success. How did the other builders accomplish this? Do I have to use some sort of script or is there another trick that I don't know about? I'm dying to finish these as I've brought in all the textures and can almost see success!
Thanks in advance for sharing any ideas or experience.

I believe you need to set the enclosing megaprim to phantom even when you hollow it,or it will behave as though it is solid.

As the proud owner of a 50 meter moon, hollowed, and a space base set up inside, yes you indeed do have to set it to phantom. And you can set it to rotate as well, a nice slow rotation looks good if you want the panorama to move.

More than likely they had a transparent floor inside of it, giving the illusion that you were walking on the prim itself. And a side note, if you do make the sphere phantom, don't link anything to it, as whatever is linked will go phantom as well.
