Do you have any knowledge of Blender?
It's a Blender script that lets you design in Blender using Blender versions of SL prims. There's a forum for it at http://sourceforge.net/forum/?group_id=149111 . Perhaps Jeffrey Gomez will step in and give you a real answer. _____________________

If you follow the instructions, it creates an interface in Blender similar to the inworld interface for building. And now he's incorporated sculpties into it, thanks to the work done by others, especially Domino Marama. Once you build something in Blender, you use an importing script to build the item inworld.

Oh my.
Any suggestions for documentation that I can help with? Most of the docs are covered in the old forum thread I have linked in my sig, including startup, usage, downloading and running Blender. There is *a lot* of resident information captured in that thread. If it'd help for me to port that to a more useful docfile, I can do so. ![]() I'm especially fond of this post: /8/64/110607/14.html#post1966074 _____________________

Not a whole lot. I keep trying to run the script and it doesn't work. The 0.5.0 release is a beta build. What errors are you getting? 0.4.1 is the last stable release. 0.5.0 has, so far, only been tested on my systems under Blender 2.45 and 2.46, using the .blend file I distribute with the tool. I recently made a call to test the new build in these very forums. ![]() _____________________

For kicks, I've added the above links to the documentation.
Oh, and I released a new version (0.5.1) with texture culling, but that's just a bonus. ![]() _____________________

I know I downloaded one version thinking oh maybe I can learn and understand this and gave up in a short period of time later. Hoping that the more I learn about building...I might come back to it. And BTW, all of you wonderful people out there that produce things and provide the to the rest of us...AND....everyone that tries to help others ou, here or in-world...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! Some, if not all of us, do appreciate you!!!!!! It makes us a community! |

* I'll see what I can do. For the time being, I've added a lot of (written) documentation with the script itself, and even more with the in-world importer. I would suggest picking up a copy of the latter in-world, as I've made an attempt to compile all of the relevant links and documentation there: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Great%20Pubnico/23/71/93/ Most of the functionality of the tool is self-evident if you've used the in-world tools, as my tool mimics these as close as possible. The sole exception of this is sculpty development, which is done through Blender's mesh editing tools. For a more detailed explanation on how mesh editing works, I suggest Blender's excellent online documentation: http://www.blender.org/download/documentation/ As well as picking up copies of the Blender 2.3 Guide and Essential Blender books. I own both and love 'em. ![]() Anything beyond that is a bonus that I could use some help with, like visual and video tutorials. I'm a little jealous of some of the fine video tutorials that have been made for Domino's sculpty tools -- video editing isn't quite my forte. =/ Otherwise, glad to be of service. ![]() _____________________
