flexy issue

im tying to attach something to a flexy and flexes along with the flexy

like a bead in a dread lock or something


or a ball hanging from a rope


any ideas on how to do this?

is it possible?

It's not really possible. The flexing is only a client-side graphical effect. As far as the server knows, the object is always rigid. So there's no way to attach a secondary object to the flexible end, and have the secondary object move.

For a ball on a string, the best thing to do is put a picture of a ball on a string against a transparent background. Put that texture on the front and back of flattened, flexible cube. If you want more depth, make a copy of the cube, set it to intersect with the original at right angles, and make sure the flex settings for the X and Y forces are analogous between both, so that both pieces flex in the same direction at the same time. The illusion won't be perfect, but it will be good enough.
