I keep trying to make a spiral stair ramp, but it's never quite right. By keep I mean keep for about a year. lol Is there a basic set of coordinates that they all "evolve" from? I've even tried copying the info from a spiral disected from a mod/copy skyhouse that I own, but it came out "squishy" and disproportional. I checked the Ivory Tower again beacuse I tought I saw a TUT on it there, but to no avail. It just seems like something I should know at this point.

The best thing I can think to do is to keep checking whether you missed one of the prim properties. It's almost surely the solution if your shape looks out of shape.
As an example, here are the essential settings to a stair spiral of my own (some of them simplified):
Building Block Type: Tube
Size (meters) X 10 Y 7 Z 7
Rotation X 0 Y 270 Z 0
Hollow 90 Skew -0.90
Hole Size X 1 Y 0.3
Profile Cut Begin 0 End 0.75
Revolutions 1.5
