Dangling chain, do they exist?

Hi all,
I'm new to building stuff and I'm experimenting with making jewelry. I was curious about something- is there such a thing as a chain that you can put a pendant on, that dangles and moves with the avatar? Kind of like the way flexi hair does.

You would have to make the chain and pendant in the same prim and make it flexible. If you make the chain flexible and attach a solid pendant to the chain's end, it'll look very odd because the pendant won't move while the chain goes back and forth.
Also, neck chains are normally made with thorii. As far as I know, the thorus can't be made flexible, only cubes and cylinders.

thorus

A torus is a donut-shaped primitive.

A thorus could be an abbrevation for an acephalothorus, which is a headless fetus.

Typos are fun sometimes, aren't they? :)

Anyway, Rae, you're better off making your necklace fixed, not flexible. If it's flexible it can't be anywhere near as detailed (just a picture of a necklace on a flexible plane is about all you can do), and it will end up swaying right through the avatar body. Flexible objects cannot collide with anything, and neither can objects attached to avatars, for that matter. They just go right on through. If you don't mind any of that though, then yes, it can be done, even if the results aren't wonderful.

Chosen, thanks for the clarification. I always have trouble remembering not to include the H...lol. Please don't use fetuses in construction.
BTW, I also mix "thrusting" and "trusting"...oops.

In response to the attaching question though... While the above are correct - normally the prim won't move, I HAVE seen some scripted items which actually shift the "attached" prims location in response to the movement of the other.

No idea how it works, but just thought I'd say I've seen it. I have a devil's tail that has it, but the tip of the tail always seems to lag behind.. kinda sucky, but I think it's the best that can be done - though the tail isn't flexi, it just has some animations in it.
