Do you mean the rights to rez prims on your land, or the rights to modify your existing objects?

Hi Ace,
Its my builder, he wants to put some new windows in my house...I inadvertently lost some!:-) so he's asking for 'build rights'

He needs modify rights to change a house that you own. Assuming you have those rights yourself, add him to your friends list, and check the checkbox to allow him to modify your objects.

Make sure you trust him! That is a powerful ability, and he could delete or take any of your objects while he has that right allowed!

I am interested in using this feature when helping out customers who do not have a particular build group for their area, but how are permissions handled when they allow me to modify their objects? For example, if I add items to their object's contents. I couldn't find any clarifications while searching through the forums. Just curious is anyone has any experience with this.

Thanks!

Make sure the item you are adding onto is modifyable otherwise you cant link it up. When I do builds for people, they allow me access to modify their objects, I then do whatever it is I need to do and then either transfer the items to them to rez (or they take them since I also allow them modify rights) and for me to reposition - so I can then link them up - or if possible I do the linking myself for them. Just make sure stuff you build for them on a modifyable object is also modifyable for them (save scripts). As far as land and object rezzing, if they have it set to no rez then they either need to remove that while you are there or create a group that you join that will allow you to rez objects.

At least this is my limited experience and understanding on the matter.

I'm a builder and when I do a custom build for a client, I build on site. Build All Residents must be enabled by landowner. Once the build is finished, I just set it up for sale at L$0, so that my client can buy it and gets transfered to him/her withouth having to grant me any special rights.
