Joining Masses

I'm new to the building scene and what I have created so far is very simple and complex. Basically I took the default mass object (.5m cube box) and copied it in multiplicity fashion to build a house. I know there's other ways and better ways to do that. Please humor my question. How can I effectively join all these cubes so the individual parts become part of the whole? Thanks in advance

As you build, you will find that was a bad idea. Building in SL is all about using the "least amount of prims" on any given project. For every 512 sq metres there are 'only' 117 primitives allowed. (I think)
You can get away with more by spreading the project over more area. ( I think) Is why the sandbox has large jobs allowable but can still refuse to rez when not enough horsepower.
But to answer: select all so they are all yellow, go to tools- LINK

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I am slowly figuring out that was a bad idea, although it sounded good at first. Quite a bit of progress in short amount of time. Too good to be true I suppose.
When you 'link' the objects, do they retain their own count of prims meaning I wouldn't benefit at all by doing this. I suspect that is probably the case.
Thanks again

If you build a wall with 20 prims, it still counts as 20 prims regaurdless if its linked or not.

OUCH! Growing pains, you can also hold ctrl-L to link a selected group of objects and to unlink them you first select the group you wish to unlink, hold Ctrl-Shift-L & viola! Keep in mind however that in order to link an object to another they CANNOT be further than 30 meters (on center) from each other, thats 30M from the center of one prim to the center of the other prim you wish to link. IM me in game if you need any further assistance I'm usually on between 12-3 SLT:D

I have heard that building a house out of bricks in this way is still better than those built from straw or sticks though. ;)
