I have a texture and color on one prim that I like and would like to copy it to another, how would I go about doing that? If there somewhere to read this I am happy to be pointed that direction.
thanks

I believe you can just go to the texture tab in the object properties, click on the texture box, then find that texture in your inventory and select it. It may help to search for the object.

Just select the whole bunch of objects you want the item applied and select the colour and the texture, or make a small script that auto sets the texture and colour to the target prim and copy the script+texture into the prim you want it applied, then set llDie to delete after used.
You will need full perm to do that tho, you can“t copy no copy/mod textures

That's what I have to do, write a script, to copy a texture or color from one prim to another created later. There goes the efficient production process.
Although I appreciate the first response you often don't have the luxury of having created all the objects you want to have a matching texture/color at the same time. I mean suppose you create an object of some complexity and then realize that you need to add one more prim. You need to go through the process of creating a script to simply match the look?
This is a common and basic function in any content creation application.
Another question about the first response, Mars, you assumed that I knew something I don't, do I have to create a named texture/color combination before I can use it? Does it have to saved before I use or want to reuse it in the future?
Thanks as always.

thanks 1. Shift select the new prim followed by the prim with the texture and colour you want to copy from. 2. Look at the texture tab. The info there will show the last prim that you selected. 3. Click on the small box with the texture in it. And just press 'select' when a dialog pops up. 4. Click on the small box with the colour in it. And press 'select'. That should match the texture and colour of both prims. Also works with individual surfaces.
