Lets trade

I am willing to trade votes at voting locations. Simply drop by my tree house on "lonely island", Welsh sim, under my tree house and vote for my location and drop me an IM whether I am online or not at the time.

I in turn will visit your location the same day and drop you my vote. Please leave a simple description on my IM of your location if I haven’t visited you before. At least leave your Sim name to refresh my failing memory. =0)

I think this will be a good to see new locations and also reward those who take the time to visit me or drop by.

There will be a few instances that I am completely unavailable to sign in on some days, these will be far and few between and I apologize beforehand.

I think we should set up a landmarks box at one of the locations so those of us who don't know where everyone in the "lets trade votes" circle lives can get that info easily.

Okie day! Will do. I'll set up a traders landmark object. Should be able to click retrieve all the landmarks, add yours to it if its not there. Will be at the Treehouse/Lonely Island, course if anyone else would like to add your own at your location please feel free to do so. I can make a nice texture available to distinguish our cause.

Ok, not mandatory of course, but I think it would be a Really Good Thing if we named these landmarks similarly...

"Voting Circle Landmark -- Steller Sunshine"
or to make it easier/shorter:

"VCL - Steller Sunshine"

Start them all with VCL (or whatever is decided) and end them with our own name. That way they'll stay all nice and together.

This reminds me of something currently going on in The Sims Online, with inter-city trading. Its legal, but, looked down on. I don't think that this is very 'kosher', as it defeats the voting purpose. Will you still trade withsomeone if their property is totally ugly?

I guess its how you view the voting booths.

Why do you vote for someone?

Do you vote for them because you are their friend?

Do you vote for them because you show up for a function?

Do you vote for them because you live next door?

What others reasons?

I think and why I have started this post is that many people are dedicated to being in-world for many hours. What better way to reward those who are giving so much time then to give them my vote? Of couse I also have different reasons for voting for other people. I think if someone takes time to stop by, say hello or vote for my location why not in-turn vote for them too?

I was also interested in how others would react to this idea so this is good feedback.


Maybe this will in general get more people out there to vote for each other even if not participating this way. I'd love to see that happening.

If everyone in the vote-ring(hmm sounds like web-ring) every vote cancels each other out due to even number of votes. But yes that means more people will have the minimum number of votes to get an award, but as Stell says, why not reward those who dedicate thier time to this?

I for one am very lucky to be able to spend the time in here that I do, as I have a 2 month old baby and a somewhat generous fiance that takes care of him most of the time so I can get some "ME" time on SL. in return she gets her own on *cough cough* Diablo2exp (her choice to play that lol).

So when people vote me into the monetary award status of the vote pool I am not just happy to get money, I'm happy that people are noticing that I am here, trying to better the SL community with my trails and errors (some very funny), like my squeaky slimey shootter machine gun. Also that my accomplishments here don't go unnoticed, Quite honestly if we didnt get any money for votes that would suk for some But it would be a means to recognize people.

Everyone really needs to have their own daily lists I think.

Lets just raise an island and everyone buy a 10x10 plot and put a Voting Booth. We all make it our home point and when you log in vote for evey booth there.

Please count me in on this. I have a voting booth at the lottery boxes by the avatar store.

Stell, you posted about why people vote. I vote at every booth I pass because everybody's so poor. hehe. But I make an extra effort to go out of my way to vote at booths where I like the work the person is doing.

OK I have a GREAT idea.

Drop me your name and location of your voting booth. Voting booth box will be at the tree house, insert a note card inside with your information.

Tree house location is nearest to your drop down landmark "lonely island". Welsh area.

I will post a list of *all* voting booths and *location and owners* from the information I recieve and also from the voting booth results that are posted.

If you need a voting booth it will also be available at my tree house.

Drop by anytime to get a revised voting booth list, new people coming in all the time.

I've decided to make this more of a community project.

In as centralized location I can find I will make a voting information center. I will make it as non-partisan as I can therefore will be collecting no votes on the premises.

Also at this location will be information on other locations you can visit such as a list of stores and their locations.
