Hello all interested. I am currently building an avatar of Wukong from Journey to the West. I'm sure a majority of readers will be familiar, seeing as how SL seems to draw a crowd of knowledgeable and creative people.

Anyhow, I've basically figured out (mostly) everything; including an animation override for a monkey's walk, the simplistic tail primitive, and even the cudgel (easier than the tail! lol). But I'd like to hear how others would have done it. And I've yet to find out if there's a way to alter size of already-rezzed primitives, as to modifiy the cudgel (in perhaps a fashion of saying "3m x 4cm";). The thing I'm proud of most if the animation of I've come up with of putting the cudgel away once it's shrunken.

If this goal seems absolutely stupid, or undoable (wow I doubt it), please give me your suggestions, criticism, and hey - I'm open, so even insults. See you inworld.

llSetScale
and
llSetAlpha (or
llSetLinkAlpha )

are your friends for removing/changing prims used as attachments
llSetScale has some limitations because it shrinks only one prim in the link set at a time and scaling more than two in a set they end up floating away from each other in odd ways. (haven't experimented lately so I'll double-check tonight)

if you want to "put away" a prim or prims on an attachment though llSetAlpha is definitely the way you want to go.

it's still there (in case you want it back) but it doesn't show.

feel free to IM me if you want some example scripts. or click the links above if you want to start scripting :)

UU
