Let me tell you a story...

I created an object and I set the object as no ciopy no modify. So I was the creator and the owner. Then I shared that object with a group of mine.

A member of my group, by mistake, took the object and place it in its inventory. I asked him to gimme that object back. He did.

So I received back my object. I am still the creator and the owner, but I cannot edit it anymore. I was able to do it with original object. So... how can I edit MY object again? It is supposed that if an avatr is the cREATOR and the OWNER of an object, should have full control of it...

If the object was taken by someone else, next owner permissions start to apply, whether you created it or not. So even if the other person then gives it back to you, it will be no copy no modify once you take it back, because you are now seen as a next owner. Here's to hoping you kept a copy of the original. :o

Exactly, when you create an object, you should take a copy of it into your inventory. That copy will always have full permissions since you created it. Here's a lesson in letting others have permission to edit your objects. If you give someone permission for whatever reason, take back the permission when you're done. Don't leave the permission turned on unless the person know's what they're doing. When you create something, name it with a version number... 1.0, 1.1, etc, and periodicly take a copy of it into your inventory. That way, if something goes wrong, (sim crash, idiot friend with mod perms on your objects, etc), you can at least pull out the latest version of what you're working on. It's the same concept of periodically saving your work when you're working on a big project.... Also, having a full understanding of permissions.. creator AND next owner is a must if you want to be a content creator.
