Texture Change Question

Hello All,

I'm building some furniture that allow the owner to change the textures of some parts of it using a dialog.

My question is this - is it better to have the textures in the inventory of the prims being changed? or to use the UUID to change the textures? I have written the script so it can do it either way, just looking for advice on the best, most efficient way to do it.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sparkly

I would be interested in the answers to this either way - because there really should not be any difference. There should be one copy of the asset on a server someplace and the UUID should reference that. When you think you are placing assets into an inventory (or prim) all you should be doing is copying the UUID into it. The asset should be then referenced from the server on demand.

The "movings into inventory" I think is just an illusion.
