How do i ungroup items, or delete an item that is part of a group?

hmm, not a particular "group" persay.
But when you are building you can make everything as one by hitting shift and clicking on all the parts than hitting ctrl l to link everything. So how do i delete something linked?
sorry still learning the lingo :/

Choose "Edit linked parts" then select only those prims you want to remove from the whole assembly. On the "Tools" pulldown, Select "Unlink". Then delete those items.
