Suppose I am working in an area where I am limited to 100 prims. I drop two blocks on the ground. This leaves me 98 prims (right)? If I link them does this increase my quota back to 99 prims? And how do I link them? A reference to the appropriate help pages will be fine.

All the individual prims in a linkset still count against your allotment, unless you're wearing the set as a personal attachment. To link prims, select one of them and turn on editing. Then, holding down the shift key, click around selecting the other prims you want as part of the set. The last prim you select will be the "root" prim. That has implications when you get into scripting, but for now, it's good to know that that prim's coordinates and rotation will be the effective coordinates and rotation for your entire linked set. There's another way to skin the cat...you can drag a selection marquee around a set of prims to link them, but I'm not so hot with that tool, so I'm going to let somebody else fill you in on the gory details If you'd like some help getting the hang of building, you might give Mae Best an IM. She loves to show new folks how it's done, and she is none too shabby at it -- jj Edit: *gleep* just saw your join date...let me quickly replace "new folks" with "interested parties"
