Just been building an object and was trying to position it, when it just shot off never to be seen again. I've looked all around my area but with no luck. Have I lost it for good or is there any way to recover items which are imbedded in land, which I fear has happened to my object?

If it is underground, just draw a selection box on the ground with your mouse. To do this, just make sure the editor is open, click and hold on the ground, and drag your mouse diagonally, in the same way you might draw a box on your desktop to select multple icons. You'll end up highlighting any objects inside the box.

If it's gone way up in the sky, all you can do is hunt for it. If it's gone over someone else's property, eventually it will probably get returned to you.

Be careful when entering numbers into the editor. If you forget a decimal point, your object can end up hundreds of meters away.

If you were dragging it along a single axis, just walk along that line, it should be on it somewhere.

You might also try turning on your mini-map and flying around. Your objects will show as blue.

also if it's on someone elses property it could get returned, in which case it will be in your Lost and Found folder.

the bad thing is they could also just delete it rather than return it.

Hehe. I just found a prim the other day up at 700+ meters...

I 'lost' it a few months ago along with several others. I though I had found em all... ;)
