I have installed Blender 2.49a and Python 2.6.2 and the scripts from Domino Marama (thanks for your hard work on those). With the older versions of blender (2.46) and scripts the import function allowed for the stitching type to be set on the sculpt being imported. I do not get this window when i go to import using the newer version. Is there new way to do this or did I mess up the installation?

It detects the map type automatically now on import. It is possible to change the type by editing the mesh seams and joining or separating them as required.

So there's 3 ways to use an existing sculpt map

1) Import. This automatically detects the type, and is designed for using existing maps as part of a build. Normally you'd only use object mode scaling and rotation on it.

2) As an add mesh shape. This automatically detects the type and is designed for using an existing map as a basis for a new sculptie.

This is only available in add - mesh - test gui currently. It will become add - mesh - sculpt mesh when a few platform issues are sorted out http://dominodesigns.info/project/issues/primstar).

Next to the Shape selection box in this gui there is a file open button. Use this to select the sculpt map .tga file and you can use all the add mesh options to set how it will be created in Blender.

3) To update an existing sculptie. After using add mesh - sculpt mesh to create the desired mesh topology (Sphere, Torus, Plane or Cylinder) you can apply the shape of an existing map on to the new mesh. In edit mode, go to Mesh - Scripts - Update fr_om Sculptie and choose the sculpt map file.

Option 3) is the only one that gives you control over the sculpt type. With 1) and 2) you have to use the modeling tools to change the topology.
