I have had pieces of builds go phantom for no reason. Apparently it is a by-product of ever using "edit linked Sims." I fixed them by taking the phantom prim(s), unlinking them, and replacing them with entirely new prims. coco

To minimize this problem, do not use the "edit linked parts" option - especially if you are stretching the prim. The fast way to eliminate the phantomed piece is to simply drag copy the entire linked set and eliminate the original set. The copy that is left behind should be fine. Alternatively, you CAN use "edit linked parts" to select the parent prim in the set that has a phantomed piece, unlink and relink just the parent (keeping the same parent). You shouldn't have to create a new prim from scratch.
