And more generally how do I add text to a prim?

Hi, I'm trying to create a 'to do list' in SL if I have a prim how do I allow people to add/edit text on it? And more generally how do I add text to a prim? Thanks I'm not sure you can. Not in the sense you're thinking-- There are a few ways you can do this: 1. Create the 'to do list' graphic, have the option for all 'to-doers' to download this graphic--allow them to fill in boxes on the to do list, and upload it back to the prim in world. Either you, or they, need to make sure they are taking previous installments into consideration when editing the graphic. That's a bit confusing though...so... 2. Create a prim, housing a notecard--the notecard can be edited by your 'to doers.' They can edit and update at their leisure. Either you use this info to create the graphic, or you can use floating text for the to do list...or you can just have no updatable to do list graphic. Hope this helps. _____________________

I'm too lazy to find it for you, but within either the scripting tips of scripting library forum there is a script called xy text, and another more effecient xxy text... these allow you to place multiple letters on a single prim, but it still takes several prims to make a sentence.

Ya, as a matter of fact, Metaverse Messenger has a sign up list in their staff offices--staff writers click on the sign, manipulate the text inside the notecard, and the graphic is displayed on the prim... However, it's not a graphic like you think...it's pretty standard looking texty-looking. Like...DOS compared to Windows... It works though. ![]() _____________________
