Hi I am trying to use a corinthian column in my build. I downloaded a texture but cant figure out how to make it three dimentional. I can only get it on half a cylinder, rather than linking two is there a way to use the one prim? I would appreciate any help you can offer

I've asked one of the artists for advice. In the meantime, you might also see if the other SL residents have any ideas. I'm copying this post to the Building forum to see if anyone there has any ideas to help you.

Could you include a copy of the texture, and what you're getting in-game?

Suspect you'll want to play with the repeat values for X and Y. setting both to 1 if it's a complete wrap-around

yes, posting a copy of the texture might be helpful.

Are you dragging the texture from your inventory directly onto the prim? This will assign the texture to a particular side of the prim. If you want to assign it to all sides, then you can either drag it from inventory onto the texture image box (the box that shows the picture of the texture... the wood grain default for example) in the Edit->Texture tab

or if you click that texture image box, it will pull up all the images in the texture folder in your inventory in a drop-down list for you to select the right one.

By clicking the 'select texture' radio button, you can edit how the texture sits (offset, how many repeats, etc) on individual sides -- the rounded part of the cylinder vs the ends.

Side note on texturing: a lot of people forget to set textures on all the sides of their prims. Let's say you have a box prim with a wide side and a really thin slide. If you set the texture at 1x1 for all sides, you may find it squeezed and blurry on the thin side. Select the thin side and change the texture to 0.1 to 0.5 (whether that is horiz or vertical will depend on how it is rotated) and you will find it pop into focus.
