Hey...Bought my first mainland parcel...and I figured out how to terraform pretty quickly...but it seems there are contraints to how much I can flatten my land (I'm on a hill) Does anyone know...is there a scripted object that can bypass this..or am I simply doing something wrong?...I'd really appreciate any help I could get from experienced land owners...thanks!

What you did wrong is buying a hill, welcome to mailand my dear. You got your land cheap so you got what you paid for.

Mainland parcels can only be adjusted by +/-4 meters, meaning you can only go over or under the Linden settings for the land by 4 meters each direction. Otherwise, prim boxes to create a flat area with a grass texture.

You can only terraform +/- a certain amount from whatever original shape the land had when it was first created. Depending on what sim you're on, that amount will be either, 0M, 4M, 20M, or 40M (I think those are all the possibilities, but if I missed any, I'm sure someone will say so). So, if the land started out a hillside, and you can only terraform +/- 4M, you might not be able to make it completely flat.

From: Abba Thiebaud Mainland parcels can only be adjusted by +/-4 metersA Actually, that's only partly true. SOME mainland sims have the +/- 4M limit, but certainly not all. Both Indigo and Crimson, for example, where I have land, are +/- 40M. The amount you can terraform seems to be related to the age of the sim. The older, the more terraformable. I'm not sure why, but LL has seen fit over the years to make the terraforming range smaller and smaller. Back in the day, all terraformable land was +/- 40. After a while they went to +/- 20 for all terraformable new sims (pre-existing sims did not get changed). Now newer sims are +/- 4. As far as I know, they've never explained why they keep cutting it down.
