Hi

I am building a globe.
With a sphere as the earth and another sphere on top of it, slightly bigger as the athmo.

Now i am running into that problem that i can't select the sphere underneath the second sphere anymore, without moving the second sphere.
I need to link these object in a specific order so that they rotate around the right parent axis.

Is there any other way of selecting objects then clicking on them ?

thanks for the help in advance

Click and drag to make a selection box around the two prims. They'll both be selected, but double-check under teh edit/general tab. There are also some options under the Tools menu to help... <Select Only My Objects> allows you to make a selection box around a large area, but only have your objects selected. Just make sure to toggle that feature off again after you're done, or you'll wonder why you can't select anything.

As an add-on to what DoteDote said, if you want to select just the inner sphere without the outer one, drag a selection box around both of them to select them both, and then shift-click the outer one to deselect it. The inner one will remain selected.

Alternatively, you can make a cut or a dimple in the outer sphere to allow access to the inner one. Then, when you're done, just remember to seal the cut/dimple.

Client Menu, Rendering->Hide Selection is handy also. You have to set/unset it according to when you manage to select what you wanted.

I should have added that in my top building tools.

Also alt-cameraing around a bit until your viewpoint goes under the surface of obstructing prims is another way- I can get to internal wall edges to texture them doing this, for example.
