I've made a cuddle cave for myself, but more and more people ask if it's for sale. Well it isn't because it's badly linked. It is over 30 meters wide and about 45 meters deep including the passage way (see picture cave_up.jpg). But more important: it also has some phantom prims for the water and some phantom rocks (see picture cave_in.jpg, PH = phantom). On the cave_in picture you also see a 10 meter wooden pole to show the size. I can't link everything together, because the prims are too far away. And I can't link the phantom prims to the solid prims, because then that complete part would become phantom. Later I will put it all into a rez faux package, but it's a bit awkward when the package is rezzed and people end up with a lot of loose prims (the phantom prims). What would be the best way to link the whole lot?

Link all the phantoms together that you can, and make it as few linksets as possible all around.
Then take in a copy as a coalesced object if you want a backup, then rez-faux it.

Yes Keira, thank you. I was afraid that this might be the best solution. But still the buyer ends up with a lot of linked sets, because the phantom prims are also far apart. And once a rez-faux package is rezzed and saved, and they want to move the build afterwards, people still have to select all linked sets.
Isn't there an easier way to keep the built together after rezzing and saving?

You can custom script, or have someone else do it for you, something like the rez-fauz positioning, and put that in each piece so that they always move together. But that's a ton of work =P Generally, I just sell rez-faux stuff copyable, that way if they need to move it, they can just delete it, rez a new one, and then move that one into the new position.

Oh damn... Of course. I've already made some builds and put them in a rez-faux package, and copyable. But it really never crossed my mind that you can just delete stuff and rezz a new one, just for positioning. Hmm, sometimes solutions are so simple that you don't even think of them. Thanks for your reply!
