Are they possible? Is there some way to make see-through glass with the shiny effect?

From: Thom Wozniak Are they possible? Is there some way to make see-through glass with the shiny effect? i believe the shininess wants a solid texture to work. you can get some effect by layering a alpha-textured effect over a shiny-textured effect, but it may not achieve what you are trying to do.

No, it won't. I am making a watch, and I want a shiny glass crystal for the face.

First, for a watch face, I'd recommend using a texture instead of building the whole thing out of prims, but if you really, really, really, want to use a prim for that crystal, make it an invisiprim. Since invisprims don't use alpha transparency, they can be shiny and see-through at the same time. Just make sure you've got a prim with a 24-bit texture on it in between the crystal and the avatar's wrist, or the the crystal will just look like a shiny hole in the avatar. Invisiprims hide all objects that are behind them and have 32-bit textures, including avatars.
