HI I recently made a set of Spiral stairs the elevated parts consisting of three sections raising up to 5 meteres. the staircase worked fine for a couple of days my self and other avs able to walk up and down it.
I have logged on this morning and each time I attempt to use it (going up or down), it's as if my av has walked in to a brick wall its like the whole thing has become a solid prim, although it looks absolutely right. I rezed up a copy of it from my inventory and am unable to use this either.
I tried unlinking the objects but this did not work.
I logged in with my wifes AV and even she couldnt wiggle her sexy ass up or down the stairs (fun to watch).
Is this a bug?? or have missed somthin here.?

No ideas here, but just to let you know that you are not alone. The same thing happened to a friend of mine. The spiral ramp that worked one evening now no longer works. I've watched as several new spiral ramps have been built and none of those have worked. It's been pretty frustrating. I was in another sim last week and attempted to climb a spiral staircase and the same thing happened there, too. Yes, it's like walking into a solid wall.

Cas Logan That's a longstanding bug in SL -- a prefab villa I bought has a spiral stair and this happened to me several times -- it's as if the entire thing suddenly became encased in a block of glass... what happens is that the program that "reads" the prims "forgets" it's a spiral and reads it as a block... the only way I fixed it was to delete the whole whole and rez it again from the file copy. Thank the gods Damanios sells his prefabs as mod/copy. I've noticed that now he's selling the same prefab with a tp system <grin>. Guess he got tired of dealing with complaints about the bug, too.

I recall reading something on this subject. If memory serves me, this happens on a spiral twisted CLOCKWISE, but doesn't happen when twisted COUNTERCLOCKWISE.

Ahh thanks for the feedback, issues and workarounds I can deal with, it was the possability that I might b going mad that was beginin to hurt. I think I'll try anti clockwise it it happens again, it has been stable for the past day or so, failing that then it's gona b elivator or tp system.
thanks again for takin the trouble to rely
