An Appeal for Historic Site SLURLS

do you know of any accurate historic site replicas in SL?
I am especially looking for replicas that are also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
I am developing a Google Earth KML which will show real historic buildings locations with counterpart replicas in SL.
I have already developed a Register of Geographic and Historic Places in SL. Find it at:
http://nmsua.edu/tiopete/sl-register-of-historic-places/

email slurls to tiopete

See http://www.nps.gov/nr/. "The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America's historic and archeological resources."

It's a re-creation of the founding campus of Rutgers University, in New Brunswisk, NJ, and the entire site is on the National Register of Historic Places. The in-world re-creation, which I built, even has the National Register of Historic Places plaques on the various buildings.

Does this list only include USA Historical sites?

I have built a replica of the (completed) Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona, and of the World Heritage site Kilpeck Church and Lower Brockhampton Manor in Herefordshire, UK, also of the Petite Trianon in Versailles, France (not currently rezzed).

The others can be viewed at:

The U.S. Register of National Historic Sites certainly includes only U.S. historical sites, hence the name. I took a look at the OP's site, which he gave a link to in his post. That seems to be his interest too. Educators on the SLED list are interested in these historic reconstructions all the time, though, and they don't have national boundaries on their interest. If you want to find some (or mention a few) wander over to SLED and either post something or dig through their archives.

Interesting project! You might also consider posting this in resident answers where you might get more responses. /327/1.html

Historical Sites in Steelhead City

I created vista house, but there are alot more structures in steelhead that had have RL counterparts.

Vista house based on the RL one in Oregon, the Melbourne Hotel was the inspiration for our town hall, the Tacoma Narrows bridge, the Beaumont hotel was the inspiration for our ballroom, the martinson cabin from poulsbo washington, Multonomah falls and benson bridge, and even the Sun Pagoda from Guanxi China is in Steelhead Shanghai.

I won't give you landmarks to each of them, but I will give you a landmark to our Museum of Historic Preservation which speaks about each of this builds and their RL counterparnts and has landmarks to them as well as URL's to their websites.
