Lights Affected by Latest SL Updates -- help

Hi there. I don't build but I will tweak things I've bought that are modifiable.

Since the latest updates by SL, some of my light enhanced items look awful (drowned out etc.). I've tried lessening the intensity, but then it's not as bright.

Anyone else have this issue or a resolution? Thanks kindly.

This was in the release notes. Objects that emit light now affect themselves, whereas previously they did not.

I suppose in theory this behavior is more like RL, but in practice, it's not so good. I have no idea why LL thought it was a good idea. At the very least, they should have made it a togglable option.

Silly me, I missed those notes. Thanks very much. I appreciate that!

Cheers.

The release notes state "** Light objects now affect themselves.
*** NOTE: This may cause some objects that are lights to "wash out" requiring some content to be adjusted"

That's all well and good. I was hoping for some practical feedback from people about what changes they've made to make the items appear less washed out. I've been tweaking, but I was hoping that some experienced people might offer their assistance. Thanks to any who do.

Cheers.
