Has anyone else had problems when building in this latest SL version. All manner of odd things:
--difficulty rezzing objects from inventory. several different error messages, but eventually it works.
--trouble linking prims. often have to go out of edit and back in several times to get everything together.
--several other intermittant annoying bugs while building that have only happened once or twice. never had any real problems before.

I also agree with the previous posts.

In general the larger (in prim count) the linked set the more unstable it can become, that includes loosing its links completly, or doing very odd things indeed when initially rezzing from inventory and/or moving the set via the property control drop down tabs (non mouse moves).

One "work around" I have discovered is to rez the set, lock it, and/or either log out or go away and do something else for a period of time. What happens then is the set becomes more stable, I cautiously think the reasons behind this is perhaps the way in which the Second Life servers handle data. In essence perhaps the set is more stable when written to disk rather than being carried via RAM memory if you get my meaning, but this is only a theory of mine.

By the way, as an afterthought, prim data sets also become more unstable on initial transfer to another Avator, (I have noticed this when I Alpha/Beta test builds of mine via my alt)

One cause of spontaneous unlinking is rotation. A linked set that is otherwise stable can sometimes be made unstable by rotating it.

In these cases, you can test it by trying to unlink and re-link after rotation. I have several linked objects that unlink/link fine, but if I rotate them they won't relink.

Here's a related thread.

hello, with this last update (March 1st) I had to readjust all my settings to just about minimum to reach the performance i had yesterday. During the hour i spent messing with my settings SL came out with yet another update which was said to be unNEEDED but may help with performance. Luckily it has helped a little so now i dont have to live with hexagon shaped circles but i'm afraid that i'm still going to upgrade my computer lol. Well atleast SecondLife is keeping computer places in buisness... that a plus right?
