Take a hinge... attach it to a cabinet. Take a door... attach it to the hinge. Link the three objects so they can be rezzed and moved as a single object. Try to open door... entire cabinet rotates (along with the door).

Suggestions?

Hello Consuelo,
Not much info to go here but it might be link order. Generally doors and hinges and other things that move or rotate in a linked set dont like to be the root prim (the last prim clicked and linked) Try this, unlink the whole thing and start relinking it with with the door first, the hinge second, and the cabinet part last. You can tell which part is the root prim in a set of prims by the yellow outline of one of the prims.

buena suerte

Eyerocker is right, hon.

Also, for much advice on building doors, just use the forum "Advanced Search" (pulldown under the Search button on the toolbar). Search for "door" in the Building Tips and Scripting Tips forums (you can search both at the same time by just ctrl-selecting each).

the best formula for single prim linked doors is

llSetLocalRot( angle2openAsRot * llGetLocalRot );

to reverse the direction of rotation,

angle2openAsRot.s *= -1;

to set up your angle easily

vector simpleAngle = <0.0, 0.0, 90.0>;
angle2openAsRot = llEuler2Rot( simpleAngle * DEG_TO_RAD );
