I have been playing with sculpties via a nurbs sphere in Maya and using the exporter provided on the wiki. All of my exports are geometricly correct however they are insideout (surface normals are seemingly reversed). Is this a client issue? Exporter? Videocard? I appretiate your collective assistance.

Flip your texture horizontally before uploading, that will correct the problem.

reversed normals

See the other topic on inside-out behavior, sadly LL doesn't have an option of reversing normals. And just flipping the image doesn't really solve it. The problem seems to be that every 3D program allows you to flip normals but once you upload the image it's a crapshoot. Has to do with how you number vertices, maybe, last to first ? It works except on the poles. And no way to see that when you preview, with that tiny window. Most images look the same unless you change the camera angle. Then you see the inside out. Really an optical illusion when you preview it. Flipping the image mangles the poles or I misunderstand that as 'normal' behavior haha

Jericho, do you have the Correct Orientation checkbox checked? That's what it's there for. If you don't have it turned on, your sculpty will be inside out more often than not.
Flipping the map over will correct the problem after the fact, but it's obviously better to prevent it in the first place.
If you can't see the Correct Orientation checkbox, chances are you've got a horizontal scrollbar in the way. The scrollbar should not be there. Search the script for the word "scrollable". Change the 1 next to it to a 0. Save the script with the 0 in place, reload it, and the scrollbar will go away.
