Every time I try to make a flexi-skirt I seem to lack the knack of figuring out how to work around the lack of colision, particularly when walking. Even with gravity, tension and drag turned all the way up, the skirt goes right through my legs when I walk as if those settings hadn't changed at all. I am wearing an underskirt and using multiple layers of prims but I'm still not satisfied with the way it looks.

How do you guys handle this?

Turning gravity all the way up will result in a higher pull strength downwards. Which makes it even worse.

Hi Elle (grin)

I think it's just the way of flexis and prims in particular. I usually provide glitch pants or a skirt so that leg doesn't show through (unless intended of course).

I usually have my gravity and tension up most of the way as well...just so that I don't get skirt face when I walk or move.

It just takes a lot of fooling around witht he settings really...and what you want your skirt to look like.

Good luck :))

With the right setting the skirt/dress will stay around the legs. Gitch pants will help though. I don't know how to explain it well, but with the prim flexyness off it should be nearing horizontal or well thats how I did it. That way when it bends down near the legs it is bent as far as it can go and won't pass through the legs. It depends on all the numbers and length though.

Agreed, the way it acts also depends on it's length. The longer the prim, the more unwieldy it gets. And yes, flex takes a lot of fiddling.

I've heard the term "glitch pants" before and a rough explination of what they are but I've never seen them or understood what's special about them. Anyone care to elucidate?

All the flex skirts I own come with these - they're either pants (or shorts) or a skirt textured the same as, or complimenting, the prim parts, so when a gap does show, all you see is the pattern and not nekkid ladies :D Think of it as like wearing a petticoat.

As well as disguising glitches, it can add depth and make the clothing more interesting visually too, if the prims are partially transparent for example.

One of my skirts came with both a skirt and pants so I can choose (they both look a little different) and I really appreciated that touch. Nice bit of consideration for the customer there.

They're just pants/underpants that have the same print/color on them as the skirt/prim skirt so that your leg, when showing through as we know is bound to happen, doesn't show through as skin, but rather is camouflaged by the pants. It just makes your skirts appear more seemless. It's really helpful for those long skinny skirts.

Hope this helps-
