I am interested in purchasing enough land to build a small pub on it. Would anyone how how much land I would need for such a venture? I have a website with members and discussions, and I am always looking for things for us to do on-line. Our site is based on the notion of an Irish Pub. I would like to design a pub that would resemble our pub, and think this would be something my members would greatly enjoy.

Of course, it wouldn't just be for our members, anyone could stop in have a drink and a bit of a natter with the regulars.

So again, my questions would be, how much land would I need? where is the best place to find land for something like this? is it best to rent land or buy?

Any assistance I can get would be greatly appreciated.

27 People have read this and NO ONE has any information to offer??????

Hello PennyWhistle. I am not really in a position to make a suggestion on the land you might need to do a project like this. There are many factors to consider and your plans are the key issue. The one suggestion I do have is to do some exploring and try to find similar builds and see how much land they have and how many prims they are using.

No one has replied because this is not a discussion forum. I will move your post for you so you may get some feedback.

You might try looking around in-world for similar builds in shops or public places to get an idea of the size and prim count of that kind of build.

Once you get an idea of the number of prims you will need and the area of land your pub will take up you can decide how much land will be necessary. :)

I designed a tudor-style, two story public house, with a meeting room, common area and 3 bedrooms upstairs, and a tavern below. There's two animated fireplaces in the 10 M x 20 M public room, one fireplace with a kettle full of stew in the open kitchen area behind the bar, and one fireplace in an upstairs meeting room. It has two outside decks, and a thatched roof. It even has three bathrooms (Men's, Women's and Herms). It's 326 prims, fully furnished with beds and tavern tables with benches, so should fit on as small as a 1440 M2 lot. I'd go with 2048 to be safe. As I recall, the 'footprint' of that pub is about 24 M x 24 M.

I could also fairly easily eliminate the second floor, making it fit within the prim count limits for a 1024 M2 lot.

That Pub needs a good home. I designed it for a contest, and it didn't get selected as the one that the sponsoring sim would build. Contact me via IM in-world, if you're interested, and I'd be willing to show it to you full-scale, sell it to you, and set it up for you, at a bargan price, just to see it used and appreciated! I'll happily modify it to suit your needs, including making a custom pub sign for the front.

If you buy another building or make your own, be aware that it will likely use more prims than I did. I use a lot of custom textures and builder's tricks to keep my prim counts low.
