Hi, all. We have just released a tool which helps you to understand how the sculptie vertices are shifted around when the sculptmap is baked and thus it shows you immediately how your object will degrade in SL. Right on the model, right in blender and with scaling preserved Note: You see the endcap of a very(!) long wand here (the long part is not visible on the image). Hence the vertex resolution gets very(!) low. The grid-align tool visualises this effect in blender BEFORE you bake and upload your sculptie to SL and chocke. Grid-align neither improves nor degrades your sculptie quality! It only shows you what the baker will do and how your sculptie mesh will end up in SL! The tool is integrated in Jass-2 (RC3) which we also have released an hour ago. However the tool is neither dependent on the Jass-distribution nor on the primstar-distribution and thus it can be used with or without those tools. Hence a separate download is available for those who'd like to use the tool outside of Jass in their official blender-2.49b More infos see http://blog.machinimatrix.org/jass-2-0/ the Jass-2(RC3) installer http://blog.machinimatrix.org/2010/02/07/sculptie-grid-align/ the gridalign standalone version Please send us feedback especially if it does not work! Recommendations for improvement are always welcome. Have fun Gaia et al.

Awesome work indeed!
I just gave it a quick run (it's after 1AM) but would need to test on some complex meshes but it did work as intended.
Once again you've shown what an asset you are to the creative community. I do hope you are enjoying your development work. I think yes.
/me claps hands for Gaia (et all) and hopes others do too. And look forward to more in the future.

I am about to download the JASS-2 to get all these features...do I need to uninstall the previous jass to continue or does it install over it? Also if needed, HOW do I uninstall it? It does not show in my program list nor in the start menu.

There is no need to deinstall it. Jass-2 comes with a deinstaller (start -> programs -> jass2 -> uninstall )

This thread was originally about our new blender grid-tool and not about installing/uninstalling jass ... Anyways when you have installed jass-1 you have unpacked it to an arbitrary location on your computer. Sorry, i can not tell you where you placed these files. However you might right click on the blender icon and lookup the link properties from where it wants to start blender. Then you know where you have placed jass-1...
