Lost ability to plant trees!

I am part of a group which manage a sim. We have recently discovered that the group has lost the ability to rez trees and grass onto the land. Each time one of us attempts this we recieve a message saying "You cannot create trees and grass on land you don't own".

So we checked our group permissions. The land is set to our group and we are set to owners of the land allowing us to Landscape using Linden plants. But still the group cannot create trees.

Well fair enough we thought, we'll get the owner of the land to do the tree planting if the group no longer has this ability. Unfortunately the owner of the land no longer has that ability and receives the same message.

Also we are unable to set Home to our sim even though the permission is set.

Does anyone know why this should be so or any workarounds for it?

Is the land deeded to the group or just set to the group?

Does the Everyone role in the group have terraforming permission?

If it's deeded and the group does not have permission to terraform, that could possibly explain why the owner can no longer plant trees. The group is the immediate owner of deeded land, not the individual. If that's not what it is, then I'm stumped.

The ability to place Linden plants is a different role permission than the ability to terraform.

Double-check the following:

Are you actively WEARING the group tag that matches the group that owns the land? I know you must wear the tag to build on group land where building is restricted, but you belong to a group role that allows you to build. Plants are likely the same in that regard.

In the group info, check the roles permissions, and make sure the one for placing Linden Plants is checked.

If you are wearing the tag that matches the group that owns the land, and the role is properly checked, arrange for a reset of the sim. It's probably a server glitch.

Ok to calrify. The land is not deeded to group but is set to the group on the land settings. So no ownership issues.

All group members have been given the ability to plant trees. I think the role is called "terrafrom using Linden plants" or something similar.

Memebers have the group active and the title is showing up on each avatar.

Still this does not seem to be working. Maybe only the Linden gods can help

There is your problem. The land MUST be DEEDED to the group, or only the land owner can do it. Most of the group role related rights, like setting home and terraforming and placing plants, only work on group DEEDED land. Just setting it to the group is no longer enough.
