Hi there everyone. I consider myself a kinda a newbie when it comes to building things. I am trying to create a skybox with a decent amount of prims, but want to keep my prim count down so that I decorate, etc. I am considering using one of those prim rezzers to drop my prim count, but I am not sure if this is a good idea or not. Would hate to been in my skybox and all of a sudden have the floor disappear inbetween rezzs and fall out of the sky. I would love any suggestions and advice from everyone, especially those that have built a bigger sized prim house and have used the rezzer. Thanks again for all/any help

Another way of rezzing a complexe structure in one click

Hello !
Try this trick :
- position your avatar in the center of the construction for wider range and use your CTRL mouse to move your view around during this process
- edit one of the part of the structure ( start at the top, its easier )
- then hold shift key and left click (select) all the previously linked parts (modules) of the completed structure (keeping in mind that if you forget one, you ll have to redo all this work)
- The last part you add, will be the center of the object rezzed
- When all the parts are selected right click on one part and TAKE COPY of it
- Here you go, you have the complete structure in your inventory as one object
- You can also try to select all the parts by doing CTRL 3 then click and drag the selection box to cover all the parts. But sometimes it forgets some sections. Just experiment with this trick
- The tricky part comes if you want to move or rotate it, you have to select all the parts the same way because there not linked as they are TOO FAR...
- Always rez the new object from your inventory to verify if its all there ! If parts are missing, redoo the complete process again !
- Now, you only have to send me a copy, LoL
Have fun !

I have put the builder buddy rezzer script into the basements of my houses. That way I always have a basement! It in turn rezzes the rest of the house. I find that much more convenient than using a separate box for rezzing.

My guess would be that there may be a brief delay from when the old temp-on-rez prims die and the new ones are rezzed by the script. You could fall through the floor during this transition. I haven't used the temp-on-rez script that is sold for this purpose, but I have holovendors in my shop that rez a new model as the old temp-on-rez ones die. There is a perceptible amount of time from the death of the old prims and the rezzing of the new ones.

The problem with temp rezzing holovendors is alot of them just have you set the temp property and don't give you a script to put in it to make it llDie()
In order to have a smooth transition it's usually best to have a timer in the rezzed object that corresponds closely with the rezzing object's timer that kills the object in sync with the new rez.
Or you could have the temp object listen for the rezzer to say something just before it rezzes a new floor/etc and then it dies.
