Hello all! I am a student developer from the Pennsylvania State University and have been working for the past few months on creating a virtual representation of our University's art museum in Second Life. The whole process has been an interesting and challenging project, myself having no prior experience in virtual worlds. Today I come to these forums to pose a question. Is there any "good" way to transfer and/or backup a copy of a large project (such as an art museum) to another parcel of land, or another island entirely for that matter? The museum is currently around 2,500 prims and the parcel of land donated to us has a maximum prim count of 2,600. As one can imagine, we are now considering the purchase of a new island to continue our project, but I am unsure of the best way to transfer all of our work to the new island. Thank you very much for a response! By the way, if you'd like to check the museum out it is located at: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Penn%20State%20Isle/203/151/41It is currently not very impressive (only one piece of art is displayed), but ANY feedback and critiquing would be well appreciated. Sincerely, eLearning Bailey

Is the whole build owned by one person so far (or can it be), and is it copyable? The 'one piece of art' can most easily be moved on its own, if ownership of that is an issue. You can select the whole build, using the "Select only my objects" option on the Tools menu, and take a copy into inventory. Go to the new site, activate the edit tools, and then drag the build out to rez it. Position as needed. One trick to make sure you select and copy ALL the parts is to use the option in the Client > Rendering menu to hide selected items. This makes the things that you have selected right now invisible, with just prim edges highlighted. You can then shift-click to add anything you missed. I once selected a 40 M x 40 M x 50 M high build, without selecting the building above it, simply by wandering through the area like that and shift-clicking until all the parts were transparent.
