I am so overwhelmed by the hundreds of different scripts for window tinting and door locking for builders, and trying to find a good one that is transferable but that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations/suggestions to point me in some sort of direction?

I really like NDE. They're dummy proof and I've never had an issue. Paskis has a script group, where you get all of his scripts like monthly. Windows, doors, key, etc. But the group is like 5k to join.

both are pretty simple, and have multiple examples in the scripting library... and they're free.
if you find one you like that's fairly simple, but doesn't do EXACTLY what you want, just ask for some help in scripting tips, post what you've got (include the code, use php tags) and say what you're trying to tweak... lots of help to be had there.

I made one. A securty system controlled by notecard and a tint option menu where you can choose 5 levels of tint and different colors.

I cant recommend NDE highly enough. Theyre expensive but absolutely the dogs bollox. Ive never had any problems with them, the doors all link in a build for boxing and you can set to slide as well...all sorts of other features too. The windows are also excellent.

ok there is no reason for door locks or window tint in sl. anyone who can use their camera right, can use the camera through a wall and sit on any sit ball inside and the door is not affective, also the tinting isnt really feesible either as you can just use your camera, and look around the tint.
Your best would probably be a security orb or a door that has something like it inside, as if someone enters the house you can send them packing. doesnt stop the camera to look inside though.
I am lazy and when I visit a mal I hate walking around I use the camera and if there is anything I see I want then I fly there..lol but I would say dont waste your lindens on these unless you have some sort of send them home script.
Not sure who makes them or where to get them but it is things to consider.

Oh also I have window tinting and also a lockable door script I had edited so you can enter a password and change it as you wish, IM me inworld and I will not charge anything for them, the door script I had edited was a free one and the window tint I cant remember where that was from but it is menu driven with 2 scripts one send and recieve as in a switch. So you can just edit channels to have switches and recivers for different rooms instead of having them do a whole house from one switch.
I would still consider some sort of orb though.
