If you're experienced and talented at building (building as in building structures versus modeling), and you'd be interested in making some extra cash, please contact me.

The design work is all complete, and prototype in place. What I need is someone who can align the structure, and also align a few multipart objects.

The fact is, I can design, architect, texture, etc., but I'm simply not able to align, and unfortunately, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to alignment.

I will compensate you very adequately for your skill, effort, and time. With an extra bonus for perfection, and a second extra bonus for completing the work quickly. You are also welcome to place a voting booth for a period of time that we'll determine.

You can do a little, do a lot, or do it all. I don't think it would take an inordinate amount of time, certainly not extending to weeks.

I'd like to look at one of your builds before you start work, and I would want you to align a small section of my build to assure that we both have the same concept of what alignment is before you proceed with a larger part of the effort. I will compensate you for this small section, even if our ideas of alignment turn out to differ :)

If you'd like to talk further, please contact me privately (inworld, PM, email) rather than posting here.

Many thanks -
Kerstin

I'll be glad to do it for you, free of charge :) I got the alignment thing down i think. I just rotate around the object a lot and make sure everything is in place.

I find that the best way to deal with allignment is to use the "snap to grid" option. You have to then adjust the grid size to match the size of the object you are working on. Tenth of a meter might be OK for a wall but not for alligning the legs of a chair, etc.

I also try and make my basic object parts nice round numbers in the 3 size dimensions. It's easy to evenly lign up 4 supports for a 10 meter floor piece, but if your floor piece is 8.4532 meters wide you're going to have to do some nasty math to get it "perfect".

You may not want a chair that is a meter wide, but still .75 will be easier to work with in the long run than what you get by just eyeballing it.

After I am done with the basic object I turn off snap to grid and make tiny adjustments as neccessary.
