Just did a preview before I uploaded a few sculpty textures and I noticed that its cutting off the ends. So these elongated shapes have their ends cut off like a Cigar.
Any reason why it does this and how can it be prevented?

A couple possibilities. First, how big is your source model? End to end, is it more than 10 units long? If so, SL might be crimping it to keep the size under 10M. I've never actually seen it do that, so it's just a guess, but then I've never tried to make a >10 unit sculptie either.
The other possibility is maybe you made your model incorrectly. Is the surface completely closed? If your source is a poly model instead of a NURBS model, did you UV map it the way SL needs? Remember, there are lots of "standard" ways to map a sphere, and the way SL does it might be different from the way your 3D modeling program does it by default.

Just figured it out! HEh- I'm not one for sleeping much! #1- it was BIG (brachiosaurus, anyone?) #2- Scaled it down a bit. But didnt help.... much #3- Moved everything to 0,0,0 coordinates before exporting, as I remember having to do this with some game mods I was working on. It Worked! And Now I have me a Dinosaur! Well, almost.... the body is a bit different in SL, but its close enough!!

Ah, zeroing. I should have thought of that. Glad you figured it out. I'll have to remember not to build off-origin in my own sculpties, not that I generally do anyway.
I'd love to see your dinosaur. Care to post a pic?

Here it is with a few tossed on textures: I can see some of the issues with using sculpties too. The whole body was "off" and they use the 'bounding box' for collision, which means you get stopped quite far from large Sculpties.
