Can they be used in getting a 4 part propellor (2 blades, and the spinner which is 2 parts) to spin while linked to the main aircraft - without spinning the whole aircraft?
If not - how can I get a 4 part propellor to spin without spinning the entire aircraft?
I've tried a few different things and it's always the parent prim of the prop that ends up spinning - and the rest of the prop remains stationary.

Select each blade, then the rotor shaft last, and Link them. Create a New Script (which will be placed on the shaft), and use "llTargetOmega": http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=llTargetOmegaIt will then rotate the entire assembly around its center of gravity. Call it again, with zeros, to stop the spin.

I'm using that default rotation script in the library - which already seems to have llTargetOmega.
The only way to apply the script to the 2 blades, spinner and shaft all at once would be to first unlink them - apply the script and then relink them to the plane again.
This causes only the parent (shaft) to spin.
I'm back at square 1 lol

Joints are broken so badly that you should forget they exist. I'm almost positive that one of the Linden developers confirmed this in the forums but I'm too lazy to search for it.
