These are the fixes for the new client issued today:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* The llMapDestination script call no longer causes a crash when used by someone other than the owner of an object
* Property Lines option is now turned on and off by pressing CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-P (Windows) or CMD-OPT-SHIFT-P (Mac), or by using the View > "Property Lines" menu item
* Linden-owned Welcome Area and Sandbox regions are no longer displayed in the list of high-traffic areas
* Only the modified part of objects will be updated, as opposed to updating the whole object
* Fixed a simulator crash when dropping a complex attachment
* Fixed a crash that occured when teleporting
* Description field for newly created landmarks is now properly greyed out
* Resolved an issue where editing a single prim using Edit Linked Parts would negate movement and rotation settings
* Implemented several server-side and database updates to improve stability and performance
* Added some small interface changes to improve usability
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The part in bold seems like a very very BAD idea. When they implemented this i thought they had figured out a new feature. Now, they are treating it like a bug to be fixed? how else will we get precise movement and rotation out of objects? If i wanted to alter only the root prim, i'd treat it like any other prim in the object...

FYI. There are a few fixes listed above that aren't in the Linden Announcement forum post about the update. There are essentially two lists, i guess. One in the forum and one in the program installer?

What are you complaining about? If you don't have "Edit linked parts" active, changing numbers will move or rotate the whole linked set just like before. If you do have it active, the numbers will reflect the position/size/rotation of the selected prim and you can change it with precision.

I very much welcome this change.

I'm complaining because the portion i highlighted describes the reverse of what you just described...

I took this fix to mean that only the modified data would be transferred from the server to the client (updated).... as opposed to resending all the data for all the prims each time. But I have no idea really.
