I made a chair with several prims. I put it in the ground. I take it into inventory. When I bring it out, it's floating a foot into the air?
Why is this happening?
How do I get it to sit on the ground?
Thanks.

Go into edit and use the red, green and blue arrows to move the furniture down to the floor.
When you bring it out, it uses the mouse as a guide, so when you pull it out, it may not be going directly to the floor. |

I did that. Took it back in and when I brought it out, it was still floating. I must be doing something wrong.

It will do that everytime you put it back in inventory and place it back out.
You will need to readjust it so that it sits on the ground. I haven't used gravity too much with objects, maybe someone who has can ring in to see if that will fix your problem. |

Usually this is caused by an object containing cut prims. Objects will rez so that the bottom of the whole prim is resting on the ground, even though, obviously, half the prim isn't actually there. Just one of those things.

Cut Primes

Yes, it does have cut primes. How do I work around it? It is a saleable item and I don't want to have customers have to manually move it to the ground.

Hrm. Well, if it's rezzing, say, half a meter off the ground, you could try this script. Just adjust for whatever the height error actually is.
CODE default {It's a pretty ugly workaround, but I think it's all you can do, aside from not using cut prims. _____________________

People will be moveing it around anyway. Nobody picks the perfect spot right away. And they want to rotate it aswell. Dont worry!
