At one point I put a hovertext script into an item. I've since removed the script, but the hovertext itself still remains. I've tried resetting the scripts, but of course, because there is no script, it won't reset. The bigger problem is that I don't know which prim I put this into and it's a 15 prim item. How can I kill off the hovertext?

Put the hover text script back in and enter the set text as "". Otherwise... Ask around NCI for a "Scrubber" script that will pull text, particles, and other script set states out in a one shot drag-and-drop. (^_^)y

Just the one with the float text... Odds are it's the root. But, you can try all 15 prims if you're willing. If it's the script I'm aware of, it will self delete each copy after it's done with the job. You don't even have to go into edit mode, just drag and drop the script into each prim. (^_^)y

I know this is late, but here's what I use. I drop it in a prim and it sets the hover text to nothing, then the script kills itself. Works great. You have to drop it in the prim that the hover text is set for.
default { state_entry() { llSetText("",<1.0,1.0,1.0>,1.0); llSleep(1); llRemoveInventory(llGetScriptName()); } }
