Ok, so I've been doing some work with heavy prim items in large numbers (50+ 150prim) objects, and I've been trying to figure out the best prims to use fomr a preformance standpoint.
For example, we all know that putting a small amount of twist on a cylinder (2deg) will make it look much better at range, but how much harder is a twisted cylinder on the server and user preformance over an untwisted one. The same question for Hollow, Cut, Top Size, and all the rest.
Also, what about other shapes, if I have an opportunity to use a cylinder or sphere segment, which one will have less of an impact on the end user? What about a torus, or the various other possible prim shapes?
Basically, I'm looking for a list of how different shapes and building options impact SL from a preformance standpoint. Does anyone have such a list? And if not, we should get together and make one.
