Hi guys

I am not very much into the whole SL thing just yet though I have been around a while. A friend has given me a house and its all decorated and stuff but now I would like to make changes and add some items. Also like to change the poseballs/add poseballs to the bed etc. I have no idea how to do any of these things... would appreciate any help

Greetings and welcome to the user forums! Firstly, if the house/objects you were given are moddable then you're in business, if not you may have to source or build items from scratch. A great place to start inworld about learning how to build is The Ivory Tower. There's a lot of help files and videos on different subjects in the support knowledge base.

As far as the poseballs in the bed go, it can be as simple as buying the poses you want and placing them on the bed and adjusting the position (right click/edit/ and move the object). If the bed has a menu system and other poses and you'd like to incorporate yours, that can be pretty involved and depending on who made the bed you may not have that ability. Some scripted beds allow you to do this though, examine the bed's contents for any notecards that may help explain this or contact the creator.

I'd suggest a visit to the Tower of Prim, which you can find easily with a quick look in Search. Spend as afternoon there, do the exercises and play around to get comfortable with basic SL building skills. That's really all it takes to do the sot of things you're asking about so far. You can learn enough about the fundamental Edit functions in a short time to be able to move things around, delete them, add other things.

If when they gave you the house they transferred ownership to you, you can right-click on anything, choose "Edit" and move it all over the place.

If that doesn't work, ask them to give you permissions to edit their stuff (it's done in the friends list).

You'll probably have to do the second since there are lot of things in SL that aren't transferable. (I'm supposing that your friend decorated the house, not you.)
