Hello, just wondering, is there at all anyway other than tiring long work, to round some land i.e. we're looking at doing a corner, semi-circle with the arc bend facing the house....kind of like a small island of sorts, just in the corner, but we've deicded for a round one. the thing is, we want it rounded, but we wish to put in waves. i guess its more of a cornered pond\beach than an island really. if anyone can give some advice it would be greatfully appreciated. as we've tried doing it the normal way ( in edit terrain mode, lowering\flattening\smoothing etc ) but to not much success.
Thanks.

If you're on a private island, and you're the owner, you can create a terrain height map, and upload it. If you're on the mainland, or if you don't own your island, the only option is to work by hand in-world.
I have to terraform from scratch on most of my projects, since LL in their infinite wisdom made it impossible for contract builders to use terrain maps without bugging the hell out of the client. Here's what I've found works pretty well. First, I chop out the rough shape of the land using an array of scripted 8x8-meter land-flattener blocks. I cover the whole island wit the things, and then I simply move them up and down to create the basic shape I want. When I've got it close enough to correct, I delete the blocks and use the standard terraforming brushes from there to smooth things out.
For something circular, I'll usually first lay out a large translucent image of a circle to use as a guide. Then I'll put the flattener blocks in a roughly circular configuration, covering an area slightly larger than the size of the actual circle. This will result in sort of a toothed gear shape. Finally I'll use either the medium or large terraforming brush, set to Smooth, to smooth away the teeth. I keep the translucent image sitting there until the very end, to make sure I don't overdo it with the smoothing. The end result is a very nearly circular patch of land (a perfect circle is impossible). It's a convoluted process, but it works well.
It takes practice to get good at using the brushes, but once you've got enough experience with them, it doesn't take long to make whatever shape you want. I know it's probably not the answer you want, but all I can really say is keep practicing.

Terraforming is a talent that takes practice. You didnt mention if the land was a full sim or just a plot on the sim. If its a full sim you can have someone with photoshop (and the know how) make you a custom .raw file that can be uploaded to the sim. If its just a plot you can hire someone to terraform it for you. Also if its on the mainland you really cant terraform it much. Some estates (like mine) allow you to terraform as much as you wish. Yes its a slow process, to get it right, and there are tools/gadjets that you can buy from various vendors that will help, but the learning curve on then might be longer than it would take you to do it manually.
feel free to contact me and I would be willing to help
