Hello
I finished my first house in SL and I would like to apply security blinds to the glass.
How can I do it? is it a material or script?
Thank you

Welcome to SL!
Your blinds are 100% script. You'll find some scripts available in the forums under 'Script Library'! Good luck! OH! And if you want a particular 'pattern' to your blinds, then theres' 10% texture, too, for a total of, well, Too Much Time In SL ![]() |

Typically these use a script to change the texture or tint/color on the window glass. These can be voice or touch activated. Some use a "switch" prim that sends out a message to the window glass to tell it to change.

I sell secure blinds called... Blindz.
These blinds are not textures - they really open and close and look very realistic. You get 4 blinds in the Home edition - they are controlled by a touch-based controller. -2fast |

Well, alright, if people are going to flog their products in a non-commercial thread...
/54/b7/137945/1.html has three blind scripts, and they're all free. The first is a simple window shader, the second lets you switch between windows, blinds, and stone but is crippled by requiring you to have some decent texture knowledge. The third is my script and is totally self-contained. Drag the script onto your window and you're ready to go. Use standard editing controls to make it fit if necessary, and change the color to anything you like (also with the standard editing controls - if this confuses you, spend 15 minutes at the Ivory tower of prims). You may also want to pop the script open and change the default channel. Send me an IM if you want a version with a different channel number, if you're too nervous to make the script change yourself. |

Nobody's floggin' products that I can see.
But it was nice of you to post the specific thread references. |

I climbed over a post by someone and they retracted it - an overreaction on my part.
Sorry whoever-it-was, I have a perma-mad-on with advertising, I get oversensitive about it because of all the communities I've seen spammers kill off, and having to fend them off myself on a message board I ran. Not calling you one of course, but its a hair-trigger response. |

Or you could simply apply a solid texture to the outside of the building and a transparent/glass texture to the inside. You will be able to see out, but no one will be able to see in.

thank you all for your reply, I don't have the chance now to login to test the scripts.
