Heyas..posted this in my 'mountain maker' thread too, but doubt it would get answered there....so..here's a problem I'm having =P
I have wings3d, and I've made a few sculpted models with it, just messing around learning the interface. I've also downloaded the plugin for it, from two different places (a pagge linked to on the Forums and somewehere else I can't remember), and went into wings3d and did the 'install plugins', and chose the downloaded file. It said it was installed properly but.. I can't export as a sculpty or anything, I still only have the original options...
Anyone happen to know why?

did you restart Wings? Yeppers.. tried everything I can think of... install then restart wings, tried rebooting pc... tried balance a carp on my head while dancing to a bavarian polka.. nothing _____________________

I recently installed Wings3D too so I'm not that familiar with the program.
Check to see if the plugin files are in the directory they're supposed to be in. They should be in ...your Wings3D Install Directory...\lib\wings-0.98.36\plugins\import_export Which reminds me, download and install the development version 0.98.36, not the latest stable version that's also available on the site. |

OK.... since I checked and such and its in the right directory now and still not working..
Can someone just tlel me how to install the plugin? I've lookd many places... and it doesn't seem to be written anywhere o.o _____________________

Make sure the version your running is the same one as the exporter is made for which is
0.98.36 If you do find that you have the wrong version you can go back to the wings dl page and choose the correct one.  _____________________

To install the plug download the zip file then extract it to somewhere on your hard drive.
Find the destination folder as pointed out above and leave that folder open in a window. In a separate window locate the new folder you just extracted onto your hard drive then simply highlight and drag the files to your destination folder/window. Close the windows, restart wings 0.98.36 then create an object in wings and see if there is an export sculptie option. Make sure you put the exporter plugin files into the 0.98.36 files folder in case you did not delete your previous version. Your destination folder for wings is usually in C:/Program files/wings 0.98.36/plugins/import_export _____________________

I only have one version of wings... and i've tried this tons of times now, and its just not doing anything... |

Okiphia, I have yet to hear of a case where following the steps at https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Wings_3D#Troubleshooting_Tips hasn't resolved this problem. If you'll do these again (not just read them and say that you have done them before), and still can't get it to work, I'll work with you to figure out what novel problem you are having.
