If anyone can guide me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I am interested in creating weapons, mainly Swords, Daggers, Sheaths, etc. Are there any programs or How-to's for this? Thanks

Not really. What you probably want to do is to look at several types before attempting to do so yourself, especially with modifiable copies to see what object shapes and cuts are made to the prims.

I think the easiest way is to use Photoshop, PSP, Gimp, or some other image editor to make the blade, turn it into an alpha texture (meaning you want to make a transparency with it) and then upload it. This should make a very simple sword.

For another method, just look into the various building techniques like cutting and dimpling (where you convert a prim to a sphere, dimple it, and then convert it back to it's starting shape, giving you a thinner z-axis length, IIRC, even past the 10mm limit). I made some sabers using a torus that was cut to length, then advanced cut to only allow a thin sliver of the outside edge.

I can send you a blade to look at Solomon, that should help with the building side, although the texturing is a whole nother beast ;P
