A couple of useful settings.

I was going through the debug settings, and found a couple that would be useful to builders, in my opinion, and figured I'd post them here for all to see!

First of all, these are in the debug settings. To turn them on, you need the advanced menu open (CTRL+ALT+D) then go into the 'advanced' drop down up in the toolbar, and select 'Debug Settings' near the bottom.

This will open a small window with an input box. Type the name of the setting in there, and it should find it automatically, and show a TRUE/FALSE box. Turn it to TRUE to turn it on, turn it to FALSE to turn it off. If it shows an additional input box, changing the value changes the value of the setting.

CAUTION: Some debug settings can hinder your SL experience or crash the viewer completely. Explore the settings carefully, as occasionally a change will be so drastic that a reinstall is the only fix.

OK, on to the two settings:
===================================

GridSubUnit
-------------
Turning this to true will show additional increments in the rulers when building. The smaller increments exist in World, Local, and Reference ruler mode, and can be extremely useful. However, it can also be annoying as it adds a lot more lines to the ruler, and it could be visually distracting.

MaxDragDistance
-------------
Have you ever tried to move an object a looooong way in one go, only to find you can't move it more than about 32 meters? This setting can change that! I currently have mine set to 300 meters, and can drag objects that far without having to restart the drag!

Additionally, if you lower the value, you can use it sort of as a super-quick ruler. Want to move things 3 meters exactly every time for a while? Just set the value to 3, then drag that puppy all the way out on the ruler until it stops moving. Tada, 3 meters! Of course, this would only be useful in longer builds that use a single size a lot, but it might still be useful to use it this way occasionally.

=====================

Hope you find these useful! I've got my grid sub units on, and my drag distance set to 300, and I'm happy with it so far!

Thanks, Keira. That MaxDragDistance thing is just what I needed. It's soooooo annoying when working on a large build to have to keep restarting the drag. It never even occurred to me that there might be a setting to change that.

Same here.. I frequently drag things up and down the sky in my property moving it between workshop, House, and various other platforms, and it got so annoying.. just happened to notice these two settings when I was going through the debug settings ^_^

So your final Nimbus Score is 8.15, a quite remarkable achievement for a biped. Congratulations Crunch, you should be very proud. :-)

SelectHighlightThickness

Change it, then relog to see the change. I don't believe it takes effect until you relog.
